Hornbills start to fly from their roosting place in the early morning hours for food and normally return home during sunset.
Daily courtship happens after the pair reaches home with exchange of fruits.In this photograph,the female is offering the fruit to the male(yellow necked is male).
Incidentally, Hornbills practice monogamy and are often hunted for its casque which is used for decorative purpose. They are declared as endangered species due to dwindling population.There are multiple threats faced by hornbills,all points to the human engagement with resources of forest .
